Genevieve Grove is a small, independent retreat run by me, Genevieve.
I am not Italian by birth, but Italy has been my home for over 30 years, and Tuscany is the place where I chose to put down roots.
I came to Italy drawn by its land, history, art, and the everyday beauty of rural life. Over time, my connection to this landscape deepened — not as a visitor, but as someone who lives here, works the land, and takes responsibility for a place.
A Foreigner in Love with the Italian Landscape
Living in Italy as a foreigner has plainly shaped this project.
Genevieve Grove is neither a traditional Italian family agriturismo nor a hotel. It is a personal home that I am slowly restoring, caring for, and rebuilding with respect for local traditions and the natural environment.
Guests may notice that I bring a different perspective—shaped by living between cultures—while holding deep admiration for Italian craftsmanship, food, agricultural knowledge, and artistic heritage.

Living Between Cultures
I am Genevieve Cheung.
I have lived between different cultures for much of my life, born in Hong Kong, studied in Australia, lived most of my life in Italy, and travelled extensively in America for the last few years. Eventually, I chose to make Italy my home with my family.
Living here has slowed me down. It has taught me to pay attention — to the land, to the seasons, to how things are done day by day. Life in Italy is shaped by the earth, by hands-on work, and by small daily habits that carry meaning. Over time, this way of living has become part of my vision. Life feels simple when it moves with the land and its natural rhythm.
Genevieve Grove is an extension of that choice.
Rebuilding a Relationship with the Land
My vision for Genevieve Grove is inspired by early farming culture and simple sustainability.
This means working gradually with the land: tending gardens, caring for animals, preserving existing structures, and allowing the place to evolve over time.
There is no rush here. The retreat is growing season by season, with attention to balance, care, and long-term responsibility rather than short-term results.

Genevieve Grove è un piccolo rifugio indipendente gestito da me, Genevieve.
Non sono italiana di nascita, ma l’Italia è la mia casa da più di 30 anni e la Toscana è il luogo in cui ho scelto di radicare.
Sono arrivata in Italia attratta dalla terra, dalla storia, dall’arte e dalla bellezza quotidiana della vita rurale. Con il tempo, il mio legame con questo paesaggio è diventato profondo — non come visitatrice, ma come persona che vive qui, lavora la terra e si prende cura di un luogo.
Una Straniera Innamorata del Paesaggio Italiano
Vivere in Italia come straniera ha dato forma a questo progetto in modo autentico.
Genevieve Grove non è né un agriturismo tradizionale a conduzione familiare italiano né un hotel. È una casa personale che sto restaurando e curando lentamente, con rispetto per le tradizioni locali e per l’ambiente naturale.
Gli ospiti potranno percepire una prospettiva diversa — nata dall’incontro tra culture — accompagnata da una profonda ammirazione per l’artigianato italiano, la cucina, il sapere agricolo e il patrimonio artistico.
Vivere Tra Culture Diverse
Mi chiamo Genevieve Cheung.
Sono nata fuori dall’Italia e ho vissuto tra culture diverse per gran parte della mia vita. A un certo punto ho scelto di stabilirmi in Italia con la famiglia.
Vivere qui mi ha rallentata. Mi ha insegnato a prestare attenzione — alla terra, alle stagioni, a come le cose vengono fatte ogni giorno. La vita in Italia è legata al lavoro delle mani, al ritmo della campagna e a piccoli gesti quotidiani che danno senso al vivere. Con il tempo, questo modo di vivere è diventato parte della mia visione. La vita è semplice quando segue la terra e il suo ritmo naturale.
Genevieve Grove nasce da questa scelta.
Ricostruire un Rapporto con la Terra
La visione di Genevieve Grove si ispira alla cultura agricola delle origini e a una sostenibilità semplice e concreta.
Questo significa lavorare con la terra: coltivare giardini, prendersi cura degli animali, preservare le strutture esistenti e permettere al luogo di evolversi nel tempo.
Qui non c’è fretta. Il rifugio cresce stagione dopo stagione, con attenzione all’equilibrio, alla cura e alla responsabilità a lungo termine.
