At the heart of Vinci, among the Tuscan hills, simple living meets the quiet legacy of Leonardo.
Life here follows a natural pace shaped by seasons, light, and daily rhythms.
Guests are invited to slow down, breathe, and experience a simpler way of living in connection with the land.
Located just outside the historic village of Vinci, the retreat offers both privacy and accessibility. The town centre can be reached on foot, while the surrounding landscape remains calm and protected from noise and heavy tourism.
This balance allows visitors to explore Tuscany during the day and return to quiet evenings surrounded by nature.
The atmosphere is informal, welcoming, and deeply connected to the rural environment.

THE HOUSE
The house is built of local stone, using traditional materials and craftsmanship from the surrounding area.
Thick walls provide natural insulation, keeping the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. The structure reflects an approach to building that values durability, simplicity, and harmony with the environment.
Over time, the house has remained grounded while the world around it has changed. When I first encountered it, I felt a quiet sense of stability and potential.
The restoration is an ongoing process, guided by respect for local tradition and the intention to preserve what already exists.
This is not a rapid transformation, but a gradual return to balance between human presence and the natural setting.

All guests have access to a fully equipped shared kitchen where they can prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner at their own convenience.
Breakfast essentials are provided, including coffee, tea, milk, bread, biscuits, and other basic breakfast items. Fresh eggs from our hens and seasonal vegetables from the garden may also be available, depending on the season.
As a small homestead rather than a hotel, we are unable to provide customized meals or cater to individual dietary requirements, allergies, or special diets. Guests with specific food preferences or dietary needs are encouraged to bring their own food items or purchase them locally.
There are no fixed breakfast hours. Guests are free to prepare and enjoy their meals whenever they wish. Meals can be enjoyed in the kitchen, on the terrace, or in the garden while taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside.
The kitchen, garden, and outdoor areas are shared spaces for all guests. We kindly ask everyone to help keep these areas clean and tidy after use, and to respect the privacy, comfort, and peaceful enjoyment of other guests. Thoughtful and considerate behaviour helps maintain the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that makes a stay here special.

Please contact me directly for availability and further information. I will be happy to help you find the option that best suits your plans.

LIVING GARDEN
The garden forms a small living ecosystem where soil, plants, animals, and people share the same ground.
Vegetables grow seasonally, organic matter returns to the soil, and natural cycles shape the rhythm of daily work. Observation guides decisions, allowing the land to respond gradually over time.
Chickens and ducks move freely through the garden, contributing to a balanced environment. Compost, fallen leaves, and natural materials support soil fertility and biodiversity.
The intention is not control, but cooperation.
Guests are welcome to walk through the garden, sit quietly, or simply observe the interaction between plants, animals, and the changing seasons.
The garden reminds us that nourishment is not only something we consume, but something we participate in.

PET-FRIENDLY
Animals are part of daily life at Genevieve Grove.
Chickens and ducks live freely as part of the land’s natural rhythm, and their presence contributes to a calm and continuous atmosphere.
Guests travelling with dogs or other companion animals are welcome, provided they feel comfortable in a peaceful rural environment.
The garden is fully enclosed, allowing space for safe movement while protecting cultivated areas and resident animals.
This is a shared living environment where attentiveness and respect support harmony between all beings present.
Rather than strict rules, the intention is balance — allowing both humans and animals to feel at ease within the same space.

About Us
Welcome to Genevieve Grove.
I am Genevieve, a writer, philosopher, homesteader, and host. After many years of traveling, studying, teaching, and exploring the deeper rhythms of life, I found my way to this quiet corner of Tuscany, where I now live among trees, animals, gardens, and the changing seasons.
Genevieve Grove was born from a simple desire: to create a place where people can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with what truly matters. Here, mornings begin with birdsong, vegetables grow according to the seasons, and life follows a gentler rhythm than the one many of us have become accustomed to.
And then there is Marilyn.
Marilyn joined me in 2025 after being adopted from a local kennel. Like many of us, she was looking for a place to belong, and Genevieve Grove has become a refuge for her as much as it has for me.
Over the past year, she has learned to navigate a new life filled with freedom, visitors, other dogs, chickens, ducks, and all the surprises that come with living on a homestead. She is affectionate, curious, and always eager to make new friends.
Guests should know that Marilyn takes her welcoming duties very seriously. She is often excited to meet new arrivals and may enthusiastically ask for attention, a greeting, or a few kind words before she settles down. For many visitors, she quickly becomes one of the most memorable parts of their stay.
Together, we share this small sanctuary with chickens, ducks, wild birds, fruit trees, and a vegetable garden that changes with the seasons. We invite our guests to experience not only a place to stay, but a way of being—one that is a little slower, a little quieter, and perhaps a little closer to nature.
Whether you are visiting Tuscany, seeking rest, working remotely, or simply longing for a pause from everyday life, we look forward to welcoming you to Genevieve Grove.
